This year’s LBES visit to the coast will take in the stations and maritime heritage of the Isle of Wight from 29 to 31 May 2026. The exact schedule has yet to be finalised, so if you are planning on attending then please contact David Wilkinson (davidwilkinson322@gmail.com), who will supply a detailed itinerary upon request. The intention at present is to visit all three RNLI stations.
Friday 29 May 13.00 Inshore Lifeboat Centre (ILC) East Cowes; Cowes lifeboat station.
Saturday 30 May Bembridge lifeboat station; Cowes Maritime Museum in afternoon.
Sunday 31 May Yarmouth lifeboat station; The Shipwreck Centre; visit details and timings are being confirmed.
Extra options Members may also want to consider visiting St Mary’s Church, Brook and St Mary’s, Brighstone, both of which have old service boards of closed stations.
Where to stay There is accommodation on the IOW, including a Premier Inn, but making an early booking is suggested, as this is the end of half-term week. Also remember to reserve a ferry crossing.
