The Trents – where are they now?

The RNLI have stated that the 14m Trents will be phased out by 2028. Here is a list detailing where they are currently (Nov 2025):

14-01  Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma – Sold in 2021 to International Search and Rescue vessel, now working out of Gibraltar, renamed Aurora SAR

14-02  Esme Anderson – on station at Eastbourne since 2024.

14-03  Blue Peter VII – on station at Fishguard since 1994.

14-04  Roy Barker I – stationed at Alderney, now for sale at All Weather Lifeboat Centre, Poole.

14-05  Anna Livia – on station at Dun Laoghaire since 1995.

14-06  Windsor Runner (Civil Service No.42) – currently stored at Broughty Ferry

14-07  Frederick Storey Cockburn – in the Relief Fleet

14-08  Douglas Aikman Smith – currently stored at Crosshaven Boatyard

14-09  Sir Ronald Pechell Bt – broke from moorings and wrecked at Dunbar 23 March 2008

14-10  Samarbeta – on station Great Yarmouth and Gorleston since 1995

14-11  Barclaycard Crusader – Sold 2023 as survey boat at Mistley Marina on River Stour, renamed Crusader

14-12  Forward Birmingham – stripped for spares and broken up 2024

14-13  George and Ivy Swanson – Sold 2024 and now at Lochboisdale, South Uist, renamed Steadfast

14-14  George and Mary Webb – training boat at All Weather Lifeboat Centre, Poole

14-15  Henry Heys Duckworth – on station Port St Mary since 2025

14-16  Stanley Watson Barker – on station at Portree since 1996, due to be replaced by Shannon 13-59

14-17  Elizabeth and Ronald – on relief duty at Howth lifeboat station

14-18  Maurice and Joyce Hardy – currently at ALC, Poole

14-19  Ger Tigchelaar – on station at Holyhead since February 2026; at Arklow 1997-2025

14-20  Roy Barker II – on station at Wick since 1997

14-21  MacQuarie – on station at Donaghadee since 2023

14-22  Edward Duke of Windsor – sold out of service in late 2025, renamed Lion Hart

14-23  Mora Edith Macdonald – currently for sale at Fleetwood Marina

14-24  Dora Foster McDougall – sold 2025, renamed Aurora SAR 2, operated from Lampedusa island, Italy, alongside ex-14-01

14-25  Austin Lidbury – on station at Ballycotton since 1998

14-26  Gough Ritchie II – for sale at Portland Marina

14-27  Robert Hywel Jones Williams – on station at Fenit since 1999

14-28  Sam and Ada Moody – on station at Achill since 1999

14-30  Dr John McSparran – stationed at Larne 2000-April 2026; reallocated to the Relief Fleet
